Origin and History
Found in France in the early nineteenth century, today it is grown mainly in Italy and the Netherlands. It is also known by the names Comice or Comice Decana.

Decana pears are round-shaped, slightly elongated and medium-large sized. The stalk is thick, short and well lignified.
Characteristics of ripeness of the skin, flavour and texture
When Decana is ready for harvesting its skin has a pale green background color turning yellow-green when the fruit is perfectly ripe. There can be some slightly russeting parts on the skin and blush of pink on the skin directly exposed to the sun. Flesh is really special, aromatic and melting when fruits are ripe.
